ECE-RJ Israel Experience 2018

Ready to embark on the trip of a lifetime???

Join ECE-RJ (Early Childhood Educators of Reform Judaism) on a 10-day educational experience in Israel. This learning opportunity, in partnership with Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, promises to be a meaningful, high-level experience, and an engaging and fun exploration of the land, the people, and the educational landscape of Israel.

A diverse and dynamic delegation of colleagues, including directors, teachers, clergy, and specialists, will dive into this exciting material, and work collaboratively to integrate the lessons of Israel into our own practice.  We will spend quality-time with our IMPJ (Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism) Early Childhood colleagues, and visit historic sites that will inform our own views of Israel, and deepen our personal connection to Israel.  

We are thrilled that Dr. Lesley Litman is working with our ECE-RJ Israel steering committee, to co-construct a meaningful experience for our participants. Lesley is the Director of the Executive M.A. Program in Jewish Education. She also consults to The iCenter in the area of curriculum design and professional development in Israel education. She spent over a decade living in Israel.

Dates: Feb 18-28, 2018 (With extension before and after for those interested.)

Estimated Costs: $ 2,800-$3,200 per-person based on double occupancy and half board (some meals included). Price includes gratuity for the driver and tour educator. Participants are responsible for their own flights.

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $360 is due by July 15, 2017. Deposit deadline extensions may be available upon request. Please email the specifics of your request to executivedirector@ecerj.org or call Tricia Ginis at 480-620-4053.

The 2018 ECE-RJ Israel Experience to be held February 18-28, 2018. Scholarships will be awarded to help offset the cost of the Israel trip to make attendance possible. Scholarship funds are limited and awarded to members in good standing and based on financial need. Scholarship may not be applied towards the $360 non-refundable deposit which is due July 15, 2017.

Please understand that scholarship recipients will be asked to share a room to alleviate some of the additional expenses. We also recommend speaking with your clergy, local federation or BJE for scholarship opportunities. In addition, consider having miles donated to use for flights.
